Kale is the “King” of vegetables, loaded with deep green antioxidants, protein, calcium, magnesium and vitamin K.  If you’re looking to change your lifestyle for the better, get healthy, or shape up, this is one food that you should include in your diet. Of course, it’s hard to make the switch to healthy foods, especially if you are habituated to burgers, pizzas, and samosas! That is precisely why you need healthy snacking options that taste great and can wean you off those unhealthy snacks.

Kale is the “King” of vegetables, loaded with deep green antioxidants, protein, calcium, magnesium and vitamin K.

Kale chips are an easy and delicious way to get your kale in, and so delicious that in my house they rarely make it off the stove! They are low in calories, high in fiber, and a big nutrition bang for the buck.

Ingredients:

    • 1 or 2 bunches of kale

    • Olive Oil

    • Sea Salt (preferably high mineral variety)

    • Cayenne pepper (red chilies) optional

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C.

  2. Remove kale from stalk, leaving the greens in large pieces.

  3. Using a large bowl, add torn kale pieces and sprinkle with olive oil.  Massage the kale to cover it evenly.  Add sea salt if desired, and some cayenne pepper for a savory taste.

  4. Lay kale out on a baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes. Times will vary depending on your oven, but be warned that kale can burn easily.  When you see that the kale looks crisp, it’s ready.  Turn if needed.
